As soon as the pair entered the club it was immediately apparent to Kelly that this was precisely the sort of place her son would have been spending a lot of his time in, if he had been on vacation with his friend Henry.
There were a lot of youngsters in the bar, many of them patently unattached girls, making Kelly feel old and more than a little out of place at being there with her eighteen-year-old son.
As they found themselves somewhere to sit, she turned to Rob, "Maybe I should just go back to the hotel and leave you here."
"That's just plain silly mum. What will I do here on my own?"
Kelly shrugged, "I don't know. Chat up a girl maybe."
"Firstly, I'm on my own and they're all in pairs or three's or whatever." he stated the obvious, before continuing "And second I'm with the prettiest girl in here already."
She beamed at the compliment and leaned in to kiss him on the cheek, "Thank you baby. I'll buy you a drink for that."
Standing up she smoothed her dress down and went across to the bar.
Kelly had barely been waiting for more than a few seconds when a voice by her side made her look around.
"Hello gorgeous, all by yourself?" the good-looking black guy speaking to her couldn't have been more than a year or two older than her son.
She smiled, getting chatted up at bars by young guys seemed to be becoming a habit she thought, and replied, "Err... no, actually I'm here with someone."
He grimaced and moved up closer to her, "Now that's a real pity darling, I'd love to have bought you a drink."
"Maybe some other time."
"So, what's your name then sweetheart?" he ignored her answer and casually slipped an arm about her waist as if trying to claim her.
"Kelly." She told him glancing back towards her son who she could see was watching the proceedings possessively.
He grinned not releasing his grip on her, "Well Kelly I'm Del, short for Delray, and it's nice to meet you."
"Two beers please." She asked one of the bar staff when they came close enough, before turning her attention back to the good-looking young man, "Likewise, I'm sure."
"So, where are you staying then Kelly? That way if you don't come back here, I can pop in there sometime just to buy you that drink."
The guy had plenty of confidence and charisma for a youngster she decided before answering.
"The Dorado Sol but I'll want a cocktail, not just a beer if you're buying them." She told him flirtatiously and fluttering her long false eyelashes as she collected her drinks.
"It's a date then." Del winked and finally let go of her.
Kelly laughed tossing her hair back, "Your very forward. Yeah maybe."
Not looking behind her she put a little more of a wiggle into her walk for him, as she headed back to her son.
"What was all that about?" Rob demanded to know as she put the two bottles down on the table.
His mother looked over her shoulder at the bar and smiled at Del who had watched her arse swaying all the way back to her seat.
"Oh, that was Del. He was just talking to me. He wants to buy me a drink sometime."
"You're not going to let him, are you?" her son asked suspiciously.
"I don't see why not. He's kind of cute." Kelly shrugged noting how her answer seemed to bother him.
For the next few minutes, they sat in silence as Rob pouted and brooded over his mother's answer.
"Oh, come on don't be like that. You've no reason to be jealous I'm only teasing you." She eventually squeezed his hand gently, "It was just nice to be chatted up."
"Sorry." Her son finally stopped sulking, "It's just that I know what all these guys are after."
His statement made Kelly laugh out loud, "Yeah, exactly the same thing as you and Henry would have been after if you'd come away together."
Rob blushed, something he had done a lot of so far that holiday, "OK, OK, you're right."
They spent their time enjoying their drinks as Rob watched the girls and Kelly watched her son. She couldn't help but feel a little sorry for him, stuck with her while a bar full of nubile young women paraded temptingly in front of him.
"Another drink?" she suggested when they had finished the first one.
Her son nodded, "Yeah sure but let me get these."
"It's ok." She was already on her feet.
As soon as Kelly started towards the bar Del homed in on her, intercepting her half-way, "Couldn't stay away from me, eh?"
She grinned, "Sorry no, just coming to get another drink."
Del gave her a hurt look before smiling and slipping an arm about her waist again. At the unsolicited contact she glanced back at her son to see him scowling at her.
"Let me get these then." Del said guiding her towards the bar and further away from Rob, "Two San Miguel, is it? One for you and another for the boyfriend?"
Kelly felt a tremor of excitement in her belly when he called Rob her boyfriend and didn't bother to correct him, letting him assume whatever he wanted.
Ordering from one of the bartenders Del turned his attention back to the blonde, sliding his hand down from her hip onto her bottom.
"You didn't say how long you were staying for?"
She gave him a questioning look and reached behind herself to move his hand up and away from her backside, "No I didn't but it's just a week."
"So, I've got a few days to get to know you better?" Del immediately slid his fingers straight back down onto her arse, squeezing gently.
Sighing Kelly decided there was no point making a scene about it, she'd be gone as soon as the drinks were served, and so let him continue to caress her bum.
"I guess so. We go home on Saturday."
"You and lover boy?" he probed, still trying to determine the connection between her and Rob.
Again, she ignored the comment, declining to elaborate about Rob's relationship to her.
"What about you? When do go home?" she asked, trying to disregard the fingers gently clutching her arse.
