Hello everyone! if you're a returning reader, i want to say thank you and I'm sorry. the last year has been... challenging to say the least. In between being such for half the year, and dealing with the trauma of my cat dying suddenly, i went through one major surgery (8 hours on the table) and one minor surgery (2 hours). the second one took a surprisingly long time to heal from. I'm still sick, but I'm trying to press on.
For those wondering, Sapphic Chrome will return shortly and the long awaited epilogue for WildSpace is in the works.
Oh, side note, this story is very sappy... just the mood I'm in these, so just a warning lol
enjoy!
It has been ten years since Emma had seen her twin brother, Edward. As children, they were inseparable. Even with them being fraternal twins, they still dressed similarly and even spoke in unison. Their connection seemed uncanny and even a bit unnerving to people outside the family. As they grew up, all of that changed. Shortly after their twelfth birthday, Edward withdrew from his family, much to the chagrin of his twin Emma. He would spend hours in his room, all alone, his parents saw that this gave him a sense of peace and mostly left him to his own devices.
He would spend hours and hours surfing the internet, playing online games, and masturbating to porn (typically, lesbian themed porn). He seemed addicted and insatiable. While he fell into isolationism, Emma would become more and more outgoing. Joining the volleyball team, and excelling at it, becoming a star player. While she was popular and happy with her large group of friends, she always wished she could still be close to her twin, but it seemed impossible. She never let go of that feeling of connection, but she couldn't maintain it due to Edward's reluctance and self imposed isolation.
Shockingly, when they were fourteen, Edward came out to his family as transgender. His brain was female, while his body was, unfortunately, male. His parents, as per usual, were accepting and understanding, causing them to go into action. Getting Edward into therapy to assist him in his struggle seemed to be beneficial, but his reluctance to speak out made it difficult for them. After a year in therapy, and seeing a specialist doctor, he started on puberty blockers (just in time), and cross sex hormones.
For the next year, Edward stayed "stealth", hiding his feminizing body under hoodies and oversized t-shirts. Everything truly changed when he officially came out, in order to live his life as a girl by the name Katie. While she dealt with bullying and ridicule from schoolmates, Katie would excel, being top 1% grade wise and graduating with honors. She chose to go two hours away to the major university where she earned a full scholarship. While Emma stayed close to home to attend a local community college getting her degree.
Katie graduated with honors, again, and got a job with a multinational corporation and climbed the ladder of success as far as she could in a few short years. Her success and busy work life left no time for socializing or even to visit her family, much to Emma's dismay. She thought her twin was lost to her and they would never reconnect again. While Emma struggled to afford her life as a low level accountant, Katie recently moved into a huge, luxury apartment in a high rise. While she worked very hard, she had the apartment, car and life to match it. Seemingly having it all.
With her income, she was able to fast track a couple of her transition surgeries for facial feminization and breast augmentation. She also decorated her body with beautiful and colorful tattoos, and a "unique" hair style; half of her head is shaved, and the other is dyed purple with pink ends. She was trying to plan for her gender affirmation surgery, but recovery would take a lot of time that she didn't have at the moment.
Now, after a decade of being estranged and having next to no communication, one day, out of the blue, Emma emailed Katie asking her if she would be up to have lunch and possibly reconnect. Katie's email was short and to the point.
Let's do it.
Emma found herself to be nervous that Katie would just dismiss her, and it would be a very uncomfortable meal. Their lives were in drastically different places and she thought it possible Katie would think she's too good for her own sister. Regardless, she truly wanted to reconnect with her and at least be friends again. She had no doubt it could never be like it was when they were kids, but having a relationship with her was all she could hope for. Having felt as though she missed out on a lot not having her twin in her life, made her sad.
After a few hours, Emma began to see the city rising in the distance and swallowed hard. Her nervousness grew even more intense. Would Katie turn her away? Would she embrace her? Anything other than friendship would be... heartbreaking.
High in the skyline, on the seventeen floor, Katie sat in a chair and stared out over the city sprawl. Her thoughts wandered to her twin, who was on her way to her. She spent hours cleaning her apartment, even though she had a cleaning service once a week. She spent an hour picking just the right outfit, that would tell her sister all she needed to know about who she was now as an adult. She felt... anxious, more than nervous.
As the time for her sister to arrive got ever closer, Katie stood before a large mirror in her bedroom, straightening her blouse and checking her makeup. She was so happy with the results of her surgeries and she finally felt she was her true self. She took a deep breath and slowly let it out.
"I can do this..." she said to herself.
BUZZ!
The door alert startled her.
"I can't do this!" She said and hurried to the intercom panel by her front door.
"Yes?"
This is Carl at the front desk, you have a visitor by the name of Emma.
"Thanks Carl, send her up." Katie replied. "Okay, here we go..."
She checked and rechecked her appearance in the mirror, anxiously waiting for Emma. Several minutes later, a knock at the door caused Katie to jump again. Taking a deep, calming breath, she approached her door. She settled herself and opened it. Before her was a young woman she really didn't know and barely recognized. Emma wore a long, calf-length shirt, a satin tunic and an overshirt. Her hair was long, shoulder length and professionally colored auburn. She had deep brown eyes and full lips, painted dark fuchsia.
"Hey Emma." Katie said, unsure exactly what to say or do.
"H- Hey Katie." Emma stammered. The appearance of her sister... shocked her. She never saw anyone who looked like her before, except for in TV and movies. Katie wore a short black skirt, low black heels, a sleek, sleeveless blouse unbuttoned probably one to many buttons. Her arms and legs were covered in intricate, colorful tattoos, and from what Emma could see, so was her chest. (Which had obviously been augmented at some point). Her half shaved head with purple and pink hair on the other half also felt unusual to her, but seemed to fit Katie just fine.
"You look... great." Emma finally said with a smile.
"So do you." Katie replied. Their nervous awkwardness was apparent to both of them.
Finally, Katie opened her arms, Emma took a beat, but eventually embraced her sister. After, Katie gestured for Emma to come in and sit on her large couch.
"Please, come in." She said with a genuine smile.
Emma entered and looked around at the 15 foot high ceilings, the massive great room and the floor to ceiling windows. The entire place seemed oversized, at least bigger than it needed to be to her eyes and senses. She nodded, acknowledging Katie's impressive abode, and turned back to her.
"This place is... amazing!" She declared. "You've done quite well for yourself."
"I do... okay." Katie blushed. Her darkly painted lips curled into a smile.
"More than okay!" Emma laughed, exhaling some of her anxiousness.
Katie smiled as she picked up a tray from the kitchen counter and joined Emma on the couch. The tray had a bottle of wine, two glasses and a charcuterie board.
"Let's have a little something before we go to lunch, if that's okay." Katie said, pouring each of them some wine.
"That sounds lovely, thank you." Emma replied, picking up a glass. She tried hard not to stare at the striking appearance of her sister, but she couldn't deny, she is stunning.
"How was the drive? I had hoped it wouldn't be too bad seeing as it's midday." Katie said, taking a drink from her glass.
"Huh?" Emma was distracted by her sister's appearance. The hair, the tattoos, her large chest, she was just so... different than she had assumed she'd be. She thought she'd see a little of Edward in her, but she could find any remnant of her twin brother. Just this... beautiful woman. "It wasn't bad at all. Pretty light traffic, too, to be honest, for a Saturday."
"Yeah, I think all the sports ball teams are out of town this weekend." Katie replied.
"You're funny!" Emma exclaimed. "You never were into sports growing up. You never came to any of my volleyball games in high-school."
