Thank you for taking the time to read this, my latest effort. I've taken note of all the feedback I have received, especially in my previous story and I hope that will show in this. I do hope you enjoy this, my latest take on the sexual journey between a mother and son.
*****
I rolled down the window of my car, smiling to myself. The scent of fresh pine, clean water and cool mountain air was the perfect blend to help me relax after eight hard months of work in the city. I leaned out with one arm, taking a deep breath as I closed my eyes. Yup, nothing could beat the air of Minnesota, that was for certain. In the sky there was not a single cloud to be seen, and the forecast had only predicted a day or two of rain, not nearly enough to interrupt my two weeks of vacation. Noticing a bend ahead I pushed down on the brakes, causing the passenger next to me to jolt slightly.
"Sorry mom, should have warned you."
She looked over at me with those round green eyes that so many men had fallen for. And yet she had settled down with my dad, something I never quite understood. She still looked good, that could not be denied, with her short brown hair and round face. I had always been proud of my mother, especially for managing to raise me despite all the trouble I used to get in to.
"It's alright, Mason. I don't blame you if you're a bit unused to company on these trips of yours."
She chuckled and leaned back in her seat, continuing to observe the tall trees outside as we kept on driving along the road, taking us closer to our destination. When the designated parking area came into view I smiled, already looking forward to getting out and stretching my legs. As we rolled up to the gravel-covered area I slowed down to a stop and pulled out the key, leaning back in my seat.
"Welcome to Superior National Forest, mom. Our home for the coming two weeks."
She looked out the window at the small amount of cars that were already parked here, a trail leading from the area into the woods, not a single person in sight. Birds were singing in the trees, and a chill breeze blew through the air. It was truly idyllic.
"It's lovely, Mason. Thank you for letting me come along."
I chuckled and opened the door, stepping out to stretch my arms.
"Don't worry about it, mom. I'm just glad that you're not bored already. I know the outdoors life is not for everyone."
I heard the door on her side open and shut as she too stepped outside, letting out a slight groan as her stiff muscles worked to regain their limberness.
"How far did we have to walk? It seems a bit steep."
I walked over to the trunk of the car, popping it open to reveal my large backpack and mom's smaller one. I grabbed the straps and pulled it out, giving her a small smile.
"If we make good pace, we can be there before dusk. Don't worry, the trails are not that rough, and you followed my advice about clothes so it should be fine."
Mom giggled and came around, taking her own bag out and strapping it onto her back. In her blue jacket and thick pants she would look quite the hiker, if it wasn't for the rather pale skin on her face. Living in the big city didn't give her much opportunity for outside activities sadly.
"You're the one who made the list, so if it turns out it's not enough it's on your head, young man."
She grinned and shut the trunk, bending over slightly to stretch her body a bit more, her back to me. If I didn't know better I would have thought she was showing herself off. Shaking my head I affixed the backpack to my harness, already starting to feel the rush of adrenaline that always came around when I got to this place. It was my private retreat, and nothing would stop me now.
"Right, ready for some hiking, mom?"
"Sure, son, just give me a minute. These shoes are a bit uncomfortable still, even if I bought the ones you recommended."
I patted her shoulder and smiled.
"It'll get better soon, you just have to start walking. And I have the first-aid kit with me in case you get chafed feet, don't worry."
She looked up at me and smiled, taking a deep breath.
"If you say so. Just be prepared to carry me if something goes wrong, I'm not letting you leave your mother out here in the wilds while you go fishing."
I laughed, patting her back firmly.
"Then let's go. My spot awaits me, and I know you will absolutely love it."
***
I cracked my back and exhaled deeply. We were now standing next to a flowing stream, my mother and I, surrounded by trees and nature on all sides. Our boots were dirty, and our faces sweaty. The hike had taken close to 6 hours, but it had been worth it. The sun was getting ready to set, the last rays shining down on the water, causing it to glimmer.
"Oh god, my legs are not made for this."
I looked back to see my mother nearly collapsed against a large rock, wafting her flushed face with a hand. I chuckled and walked over, offering her my own.
"We're here now, mom. Thanks for being such a trooper, you can go ahead and find a good spot to rest while I deal with the tents."
Mom looked at me before taking my hand, grasping it firmly. She did seem quite tired, and I didn't blame her. I had dragged her miles away from civilization, where the only luxuries we had were what we brought along.
"I'm going to take off my bag and rest against a tree then, honey. If you do need my help don't hesitate to ask for it."
She halfway stumbled away before sitting down hard on the ground against a large tree, pulling off her heavy pack and setting it down on the ground, closing her eyes. I smiled to myself, actually glad to have someone along for the ride this time. I loved the isolation out here, but sometimes books could only hold my attention for so long.
"You just take it easy, mom. I'll get the tents up and ready within the hour."
I hoped I was right, I didn't want to do this when it was dark, too easy to misplace things. After one last deep breath I set about my task, removing the various parts from the bag, quickly starting to screw things together and hammer pieces of metal into the earth. Every now and then I could see my mother casting glances in my direction as I worked, and I'm pretty sure I saw her smiling. Maybe she was just happy about soon having a place to crawl into and rest her tired body.
"Alright mom, it's done! You go ahead and get your things inside, I'm going to cook us some dinner."
By now the night had fallen, and some of the brighter stars in the sky were making their presence known, creating a tapestry of light across the dark heavens. When I looked over to my mother I couldn't help but smile as she stared entranced at the spectacle.
"It's not going anywhere, get your bag inside and then you can watch it. Food's going to take a short while."
I set up the small camping kitchen, turning on the gas to start cooking a simple meal of pork chop and potatoes with some peas. As the smell of searing meat rose into the sky I looked over at the rushing stream, already imagining how good the fish I would catch from its waters would taste in the coming days.
"That smells heavenly, Mason. Are you sure you don't need my help?"
My mother had walked over to my side, rolling her shoulders to get the last of the strain out, all the while giving me a gentle smile. She squatted down next to the pot, closing her eyes as she inhaled the smell of boiling potatoes.
