Recap:
To everyone's surprise, LeAnn, Tom, and Lana left together just after midnight. It appeared that they had hit it off quite well, and they had decided to spend more time together getting to know one another. Lana hugged me (I had put on fresh panties and a cute bralette after our joint time in the tub.) and promised to call so that we could get together to talk very soon. For whatever reason, I actually believed her this time.
Laura, Rob, and Darcie gave us all quick hugs and left just after Tom's group left the driveway. Without discussing it, I was welcomed into the bed of Mark and Connie after we all cleaned up the house. I had already planned to spend the night. I fell asleep wondering what the new year would bring, but I was filled with hope and excitement about it for sure.
I Was Their Babysitter - pt. 5
After the New Year, I provided Connie with my work schedule for the first two weeks of the month. Once school started up again, I sent her my class & set work schedules once they were solidified for the spring semester. Never did more than a week go by that I didn't get to spend time with one or both of my special couple members during the day or, on special occasions, at a hotel a few towns over. At least during the first two months of the new year, that was the way it went.
As she had promised, Lana had called me and arranged to meet with me for a long lunch in a quiet little diner near the highway at the end of January. We spent three and a half hours there in a little corner booth talking, sharing, and giggling about our new lifestyles. In a strange way, she credited
me
for it, no matter how much credit was due to Darcie, her friend who had brought her with them to celebrate New Year's Eve with my friends and their friends, LeAnn and Tom Reynolds.
"Steph, my life is so crazy!" Lana whispered excitedly. "I mean, I know it's crazy, but I am in love with them. I've come out to stay with them a few times. LeAnn continues to teach me things about lesbianism, and Tom has proven to be an even more attentive lover than even Rob was."
"Are you..." I trailed off.
"They asked me last night to be their girlfriend! I feel like I was proposed to! We love to learn more about one another. The hard part is the distance! I hate it."
"Have they asked you to move in with them? Darcie lives with Rob and Laura. I met with her and had a nice talk over lunch back a couple weeks ago. She goes to my school too."
"They did, but I am not feeling it," Lana admitted. "In truth, that's why I asked you to meet with me today. I know you've mentioned saving up to move out. I've had the same goal, and I have a decent savings account for it."
"Were you thinking about moving closer?" I asked excitedly.
"Well, what if we pooled our funds to get a place?"
"Well, renting a place together makes more sense, for sure," I acknowledged, but I widened my eyes at her slow, shaking head. "No?"
"I'm thinking we could go in 50/50 and buy a
house
," she clarified.
"Oh, Lana," I reacted and gave her a sad look. "Cuz, I only have $15,000 in the bank. I can't imagine..."
"Well, hold that thought," Lana requested and pulled out a piece of paper from her purse. "Check...
this
out," she said as she pointed at the heading of the paper.
"That's... that's
my
name," I told her like she couldn't see that for herself, not to mention that she was presenting it to me in the first place.
"Grandma, our moms' mom, opened an account for each of us grandkids when we were born. Every time we did something good, she put money in there besides whatever she gave us. Or when she got a huge sum of money for something, she divvied it up between all of us. That's
your
balance," she told me as she pointed at the bottom of the page. "I only had about five saved up, but with what Grandma put in my account, I have about the same as you. That means we could have a healthy downpayment on a house, keep some for 'just in case,' and we'd still be able to pay all the bills and things from our paychecks and keep adding money to maintain our savings as well."
