Reuploading this story because it got posted in the wrong category the last time. Additionally had another goof-up of uploading the unedited version rather than the final edited draft. A big thanks to Xyster for the edits as always.
Recap:
Suraj returns as a college drop-out to find that his father has remarried. Meanwhile, his brother has betrayed him by marrying Suraj's childhood crush, Jhanvi behind his back. He soon realizes that his brother, Kishore is having an affair with their sexy step-mother, Nora. Kishore is also actively planning to take over the family empire behind his father's back, teaming up with Ravi, his father's right hand man.
Despite attacks on his life by gangsters hired by Kishore and Ravi, and numerous obstacles in his way - Suraj ends up setting up a counter-plan for Kishore and Ravi - seducing and winning over both their wives along the way. With the decisive quarterly results coming up - Suraj finally puts his plan in action to take back his company and show his brother his place!
This story is told from Kishore's (Suraj's Brother) perspective...
"Here's your coffee, sir. Anything else I can get for you?" the young waiter said with a smile as he placed the cup on my table in my hotel room.
"No, that'll be all," I replied, dismissing the boy, "Oh, and let the reception know that I'll be checking out in an hour. So, they can send the bill."
"Yes, sir. Thank you, sir," the boy said with a bow before leaving.
I took a sip of the delicious coffee, sighing in satisfaction, and walked over to the windows to stare at the view outside.
Yesterday had been a long day. First with the fucking Board Meeting, where Suraj had somehow weaselled his way in on it. Then, that fuck up with the clients, forcing me to stay back over here to wrap things up with them.
Not to mention, Dad and his whole Karva Chauth schtick! Ravi is right, Dad is getting too old for this. He should just let me run things and enjoy his retirement.
'But if the plan works out, even without the power of attorney, we would then be able to purchase enough stock to make Dad's and others' voting rights meaningless,' I thought to myself, then took a deep breath, 'Just one more week!'
*Ring* *Ring*
It was Ravi! I groaned and picked up the phone to answer.
"Did you wrap things up with the clients?" he asked without even bothering to say hello.
"Yes, don't worry. I told you I would take care of it," I replied, unable to keep the annoyance out of my voice, "Did you get an update from Shah Rukh?"
"Not yet, but I'm expecting one in a few hours. That bastard seems to have some bigger deal in the works. I've never seen him so distracted before," Ravi grumbled, "I wish we could do this without his help."
"He needs to get Suraj out of the way. We already know he's the one behind all the problems we've been having lately. You promised that this Shah Rukh was reliable enough to make that happen," I reminded him, "So, make sure he delivers!"
"Trust me, I have a bigger bone to pick with your brother than you do! Don't worry, he's going to get what's coming to him!" Ravi reassured me, "I will need to stay here until the end of the week though, to keep things on track. Oberoi's getting restless."
"Alright, don't worry, I'll manage things at home," I said, "but you need to come back by Monday. The quarterly reports are about to be filed this Saturday before the market opens on Monday."
"Stop worrying about that, I've already handled that, I'll be back Saturday. You just keep your family in line. Just remember, this will only work if no one finds out what we are up to. Do your job and I will do mine," Ravi grumbled and hung up.
I looked at the phone with irritation. I hated being talked down to like that. Ravi is just an employee, and he needs to stay in his place. He is a shrewd one, I give him that, and yes, he is the one who approached me with this whole plan. He is useful, yes, with his contacts with Shah Rukh and his other underworld connections. It was Nora, who for some reason, had insisted that we needed him for our plan to work, and I trusted her more than anyone.
But once I take over, with Oberoi's help, once I push Dad aside and have Nora leave him for me, then I will make sure Ravi knows his place!

It was about 10 AM by the time I reached home. I had a few meetings planned at the office and wanted to change before attending them. I was, however, hoping to avoid Jhanvi and skip back out before she could realize that I had dropped by.
After all, she must be pretty mad at me for missing our Karva Chauth celebration!
But I had hardly stepped in the foyer and found Jhanvi and her sister Pooja, both sitting on the couch in the living room. It seemed like they were having tea and were so busy chatting that they didn't notice me right away. But the sound of my footsteps made them turn to look at me.
"Kishore! Back from the office so early?" Pooja asked with an impish grin, probably teasing me about my being a no-show yesterday.
"Y-yes. I had some meetings that wrapped up late and I ended up staying at the hotel, rather than driving all the way back home," I mumbled, looking wearily at Jhanvi who seemed to have an inscrutable expression on her face.
I took a few steps forward, coming to a stop before the two sisters. "Look Jhanvi, I know that you must be angry, but it wasn't my fault! The meeting with the Kolkata clients went south and I had to do a lot of damage control..."
I was half expecting my wife to burst out and start yelling at me. Instead, she simply stood up and stepped closer to me. "It's okay, Kishore. I am not angry with you," she said with a sweet smile. Then she leaned in to give me a kiss on the cheek and took my office bag out of my hands.
"Umm... Thanks." I stared at her for a moment, and then turned to Pooja, who was smiling smugly, before turning back to my wife. I was confused. "You're... not angry...?" I asked, my voice trailing off, "B-but..."
She just reached up and gave me a quick peck on the cheek again, and said, "How could I be mad at you when you are working so hard for our family?" She asked with that cute expression of hers and gave my hand a squeeze.
"Jhanvi... I-I..." I stuttered, completely surprised and staring dumbly at her sister, who also stood up with a similarly beautiful smile of her own. God, both sisters were really beautiful.
"Don't worry about last night! Your best friend Ravi missed yesterday, as well," Pooja muttered, crossing her hands over her chest and tilting her head to one side. "Jhanvi and I were pretty upset, but luckily, Suraj kept us company all night long. It turned out to be quite fun."
