Kathy was always a shy girl, never paying much attention to the world around her. She spent most of her childhood years upstairs in her bedroom reading. She loved getting lost in books and where they could take her. She never had many friends and her family had given up hope of her ever finding someone to marry and have children with.
Such a shame it was too, she was a beautiful girl who had blossomed into a beautiful young woman, right before everyone's astonished eyes. Kathy was about to turn 19 and she had never even had a date, much less enjoyed any of the other things the girls around her had experienced. But she didn't seem to mind. As long as she had a good book and some privacy, Kathy was content.
"Kathy?," her mother yelled up to her.
"Yes Mom?" she answered.
"Come down here for a sec honey, your father and I would like to discuss something with you," said her mother.
"Be right down!" she said.
Kathy hurriedly put her book away and dashed out the door of her bedroom.
"What's up?, " she asked, breathlessly.
"Well Kathy, as you know, your 19th birthday is coming up and your father and I would like to know what you want," explained her mother.
"Well I haven't really given it much thought Mom," she answered shyly.
"Well you should, said her father, your birthday should be memorable."
"Ok Dad, I'll think about it," she promised.
"Oh damn!, said her mother, looking at her watch, I've got a meeting, I almost forgot."
"Go along dear, said Kathy's father, Kathy and I will be ok for a couple hours I'm sure."
Kathy's mother kissed both of them hurriedly and dashed out the door.
"Well Dad, if you don't need me, I'm going back upstairs," said Kathy.
"Wait honey, I need to talk to you about something," said her father, motioning for her to join him in the living room.
"Yes Dad?" she asked.
"Well I wanted to talk to you about this before I said anything to your mother, he began, but I know about the scratch on her car and how it got there."
Kathy turned white as a ghost.
"Don't worry, he assured her, I won't say anything ... if ....."
"If what Dad?" she asked nervously.
"If you do just as I tell you Kathy, no questions asked," he answered.
"What do you mean?!?" she asked, her voice cracking.
"I said no questions Kathy, he said in a low tone, now if you understand what I'm about to ask you, just nod your head, ok?"
Kathy nodded her head, unsure of what was going on.
"Ok, her father began, I know you don't pay much attention to yourself, how you look, how you act, those kind of things ...... but I do Kathy."
"I've watched you grow from a beautiful little girl into the vision of perfection you are today, he began, and I can't help but have thoughts, thoughts of what you look like underneath those sweaters and skirts you wear all the time."
Kathy became extremely nervous.
"What are you talking about Daddy?!?" she asked, almost crying.
"Kathy, I said no questions," he growled.
She looked down at the floor, unable to look her father in the eye after having to be scorned like a child.
"Kathy, I want you to take off your clothes for me," he ordered her.
She sat motionless on the family's sofa, not knowing what to do.
"Kathy, if you don't want your mother to find out what really happened to her car I suggest you remove your clothing," he warned.
She continued sitting there, shaking and crying.
"Ok, said her father, we can do this the hard way."
He reached into his shirt pocket for his cell phone.
"Since you don't want to obey me, you can call your mother right now and tell her what really happened," he said.
