After hearing how excited Poppy was to be in a real relationship where we could go out as a couple, I immediately started to look for homes in other areas. My girl wanted to be able to express her love for me openly, and I wanted that very same thing. For weeks while Poppy went to class, I searched for a town and state where no one knew us. I worked from home and knew it didn't matter where we went. The end of Poppy's freshman year of college was approaching, and I wanted her to be able to transfer her credits.
After searching long and hard, I finally found a small area right outside of a big city with a good LGBTQ+ population. I knew as long as no one knew we were mother and daughter, we would be totally accepted. I found a house within a few minutes drive of an excellent university. It was perfect. I called a real estate agent to schedule a time to look at it, booked two plane tickets, and immediately started packing.
Poppy arrived home an hour later to find our bags packed and sitting by the door, "Mom, where are you going?" I could hear the sadness in her voice thinking I was going somewhere without her. I told her to come sit on my lap and showed her the house.
"We're leaving for the airport in half an hour to fly out, look at the house, and make a decision. I booked a hotel for the weekend so we can see the city and find out if we like it." Poppy just looked at me for a moment before crushing my lips against hers.
She kissed me with love and passion, maybe a little desperation. When she lifted her head, I could see tears in her eyes. "Oh, no what's wrong, my sweet girl? I thought this is what you wanted." I pulled her to me, and she buried her face in my neck.
"It is, Mommy. When I came in and saw the bags I thought you were going somewhere without me. Now I see you're just trying to give me what I want. I can't wait to go see our new house," she bobbed up and down enthusiastically, barely able to contain her excitement. I swatted her bottom and told her to load the car so we could get going.

6 HOURS LATER
Arriving in our potential new city left both Poppy and I speechless. It was more beautiful than the pictures. The city was set on a backdrop of beautiful mountains. We walked through the airport hand in hand, still cautious about any other public displays of affection. In our cab, we were both so mesmerized by how beautiful the mountains were, the drive to the hotel was mostly silent.
After checking in, I knew exactly what I wanted. As soon as the door to the room closed, I had Poppy pressed against the wall, feverishly trying to kiss every inch of her face and neck. She gave in immediately, never questioning my touch. I smiled at that thought and looked at her, "Poppy, you know how much Mommy loves you, right? Not just as a mom, I love your beautiful body and the way you touch me and kiss me. I love that whenever I touch you, you always want more."
