Movie Night with Mom
"Hey biatch!" the woman's voice sang through the phone.
Renee was sitting in her living room, Wednesday afternoon, relaxing with the house all to herself for a while when her best friend called.
"Megan... hey," she said as if she had something to tell her that she knew Megan really didn't want to hear.
"No... I know that tone. You're going to cancel on me again. You cannot do this to me," Megan said.
"Sorry, but Evan is coming into town to visit for the weekend. You know how little I see him any more. I mean unless it's ok if he came along." She secretly hoped Megan wouldn't want him to come along and this whole night out thing would get canceled. She wasn't sure she wanted Evan and Megan in the same room much less spending a whole weekend together.
"On our girl's trip? Are you mental?" Megan was never one to hold back from speaking her mind. But this was just what Renee wanted to happen.
"No, I just..." Renee tried to explain, but Megan wouldn't even give her a chance.
"Doesn't he know he's sometimes supposed to work around your plans?"
"It's just... I haven't got to see him much lately and he doesn't even come home for holidays any more. I just feel like I should really take advantage of this time with him." She heard Megan giggle a little and realized that what she said probably didn't come out right. "Take advantage... of the time," she emphasized, "he wants to spend with me."
Couldn't Megan understand that? Her son was in college, too. She was a single mom, too. She had to understand that she wanted to be with her son as much as she could while he was in town.
"I get it... I get it. But I thought you two were fighting or something."
"To be honest, we've had our issues. As much as I complain to him about him not coming home much, I think he's starting to feel like that, too. He seems to want to see me more. It's like we're both just dancing around the inevitable."
"What in the world does that mean?" Megan asked.
"Well... we went to the movies last time he was visiting and he put his arm around me... and was... you know... caressing my shoulder... then his hand... went... south. And, my God, it slipped under my dress. And then it slipped under my bra. And..."
"And you slapped him," Megan finished her sentence.
"No! No, I didn't want to raise that much of a commotion in the movie theater," she said, stretching the truth a little. "I just put my hand over his and stopped him from touching my nipple. I mean, he removed his hand. And we just haven't even spoken about it since. It's like I want to say something... but... "
"And you didn't rip him a new one when you were driving home? I mean he fondled you... his Mom... hello! Isn't that like illegal in seventeen states?"
"No, I didn't yell at him at all. Truth be told... oh my God I can't believe I'm saying this... I kinda... liked it. My God, Megan, I can still feel the heat from his hand as I'm talking about it. And my nipples ache from the thought. I've been having these fantasies..."
The silence on the phone was deafening and it seemed to last an eternity.
"All I can say, Renee, is be careful or you're going to get burned."
That was all Renee could think about for the next day and a half. She was attracted to her son. But he was a grown man... and so much like his father. Was it really wrong for her to be with him... like that... when she loved him so much?

On Saturday, after spending the day at home, Evan arranged to go out for dinner with his Mom. Just something special with which to treat her. The restaurant was gorgeous, the food was wonderful... and expensive for a college student... but they had a great time. It was still early when they finally came home.
"That was a wonderful dinner, thank you," Renee said as they walked in the door. The dress she chose to wear was not so much on the motherly side... more like something she might wear out on a date, hoping to get lucky, to be truthful. The neckline plunged low, showing her ample cleavage, had attracted many of the men's eyes... even Evan's. And the height of the skirt showed off her long, beautiful legs wonderfully. She even wore her 3-inch "fuck me" heels, which raised her almost up to Evan's height.
"I just wanted to thank you for letting me stay here a while," he said, closing the door behind him.
"Who raised you with such manners?" she asked, touching his shoulder. He really was a wonderful guy. Would she ever meet anyone even close to his type?
"I miss you already," he smiled. "I feel so stupid but I was planning on driving back tomorrow morning," he admitted.
"What... you're leaving so early?" she asked, sincerely heartbroken. "No!"
He smiled a quirky smile but was barely able to look her in the eye. How do you tell the woman you've been physically and emotionally attracted to for years the you can't be around her? He just couldn't trust himself. And she... she's his mom! What would the world think? "You've got to be sick of me by now."
"Oh my God, never!," she said, moving towards him and wrapping her arms around him in a warm hug, laying her head against his chest. "I don't want you to go," she admitted very truthfully. She wanted him to stay... forever. "I know... let's watch a movie together tonight. I saw a stack of old DVDs..."
"Who still watches DVDs?," he said, laughing. "Isn't that like ancient now?"
