Day 210 Prince
Sarah aka Ginger
We had already landed in Montreal as I quickly text Gabe to go through the house and start trashing all my old shoes hoping it would be under the number Jason had quoted me for our little 'bet' where my asshole is on the line....quite literally. As I'm sure he text Kelly to go through the house before Gabe can get to my shoes for I feared Jason might be right with how confident he was.
After our little bet and Jason's confidence I silently went through my catalogue of shoes that I know I own as I started counting how many I had. As we landed I counted having at least a dozen and a half of heels. Maybe a couple dozen tennis shoes. At least a dozen or two of flats and maybe as many sandals bringing my count to at least roughly 60ish different pairs of shoes....I think.
Then there was the heels that I had broken and hadn't gotten around to fixing and maybe a few dozen of shoes, flats, and sandals laying around the house that I hadn't thrown or sent to see if they can't be repaired.
Shit and I was forgetting my various slippers.
Between all those there was my 100 if not a little bit more.
However IF Gabe were to throw away, I'll cry at this but it will save my ass, all those including the heels.
That should bring me under our agreed number.....unless I was missing something. Or I hadn't really accounted for exactly how many pairs of shoes I had as my collection had kind of grown ever since the website took off and I started getting sponsors is when my wardrobe expanded. By how much I don't know, I just knew I took advantage of it keeping as many cute outfits and stuff though I'm sure Jason had to pay for whatever I kept.
Still I frantically text Gabe hoping he would come through for his dear mother.
Maybe I should tell him what's at stake?
No, he practically threatened me with the same threat if I didn't start seeing a counselor and me finding Dr. Hill that has more or less re-ignited my passion for Jason and we were back to fooling around and being lovers again.
With my text sent all I had to do was wait as Jason and I went off to some high end country club and I got to sit with him as he started drinking some scotch while I opted for some water.
Didn't want to get drunk if I was to be Jason's secretary.
I looked around to see every man staring at us....specifically me as my outfit wasn't exactly.....dignified. Still I didn't know whether to be insecure that I had so many men looking at me OR empowered that so many were probably undressing me with their stares.
I actually caught a couple of older looking gentlemen lightly licking their lips as their eyes lingered on me.
I leaned over at Jason and whispered, "Maybe I should have worn something more covering honey."
Jason looked around to see the men staring at me before he looked at me with a smile, "Please! I bet their mistresses have worn less. You look fine."
I grumbled, "But my 'dress' is nearly see thru, babe!"
He blinked as he spoke loudly, "IS IT?" as he looked at me before he looked around and spoke to the next table, "Say Chap is it alright if my secretary wore a see thru dress?"
I nearly turned beat red as soon as he did that to match my hair as I was now completely embarrassed as I watched the 'Chap', who looked to be OUR age as he was quite good looking, lean slightly as he turned to look me over obviously checking me out before looking at Jason, "Her bits are covered and she isn't making a show of her body," he smiled at me, "though I do approve of what is being shown."
Jason smiled at him, "Thanks."
He nodded at Jason but he did produce a card handing it to Jason, "Tell your secretary if she ever wants to move up in the world I'd be thrilled to have her as my personal secretary."
Jason looked at the card and nodded at him before speaking, "Doubt it as she's my wife but good to know she can have options."
The man blinked as he spoke, "Oh," then he leaned back to look at me, "excuse me ma'am." Then he turned around to resume whatever he was doing.
Jason looked at me, then the card, and set the card down as he smiled, "There you're fine," before resuming sipping his alcohol.
I was still embarrassed as I wanted to shrink in my seat hoping no one else would embarrass me though secretly I felt completely invigorated as my heart pounded in my chest.
We sat there for a few minutes before Jason's first investor showed up and sat down.
Jason introduced him as Jesse Frederick making me blink at the man as he looked to be barely in his twenties.
I looked over at Jason and mouthed He's young making Jason lightly chuckle as he spoke, "I've been doing business with Jesse's father Henry for over 15 years. Sadly Henry died two years ago and Jesse has been generous to continue our business instead of cashing out."
I nodded as I spoke, "Ah."
Jason coughed before he spoke, "How's everything going, Jesse?"
Jesse shrugged, "Oh you know. Just taking things day by day."
Jason nodded, "I know Henry would have wanted you and your sister taken care of."
Jesse meekly smiled but spoke, "Oh he did. Just didn't know how many people, like yourself, my dad did business with."
Jason blinked, "Oh?"
Jesse chuckled, "Yeah between you and the others we have a steady flow of income where we don't have to worry about anything."
I tilted my head looking at Jesse, "Why is that?"
Jesse looked at me, "Well here in Canada when a family member dies taxes work differently. Most of dad's liquid assets like his stocks and accounts were heavily taxed BUT he did have a lot of land and that was taxed," he flashed an almost sneer before catching himself and returned his meekly smile, "heavily."
He looked at Jason, "Any ways between you and the other investors dad worked with most of the income has been able to save the properties without us having to touch the stocks or accounts." He smiled, "Almost like dad foresaw this and planned accordingly."
Jason nodded as he pulled out the first check, "Well I'm sure this will help keep the property going."
Jesse accepted the check and briefly looked down as his eyes briefly widened before he controlled himself and looked up smiling at Jason, "Thanks Mr Michaels," he briefly held up the check, "this should help take care of some of the property taxes this year."
Jason rose his eyebrow, "Well if you're interested I could buy out your stake in the business to fully take care of the property?"
