I was in the middle of writing my college English paper that was due this Saturday. I'm not a writer by any means but I've come to enjoy it. This paper, however, was not fun. My professor decided this paper should be written about family relationships. I don't really enjoy discussing my family. I was closest to my older brother, Aiden. He's 2 years older than me being the fine age of 23 years old. Our mother had left us and my father when I was a baby deciding she didn't want to be a mother to her kids or a girlfriend to her long time boyfriend, my dad, Liam. They never chose to get married since my birth giver didn't believe in marriage. Makes sense since she would be planning to leave us anyways. My dad was one of my biggest supporters in life and did everything he could to take care of Aiden and I. He travels a lot for work so we don't get to see him often.
I shook my head clearing my rambling thoughts of my family from my head and pushed my glasses up a little more onto the bridge of my nose so I can resume writing. A few hours later and half my essay written, there was a knock on my door. I still lived at home since home was close to campus and I didn't have to pay rent.
I already knew who was at the door and didn't bother getting up to open it because he just came in and only knocked to seem respectful of my privacy.
"Are you still doing homework? Can you be done already?" Aiden looked at me and around my desk to see my laptop still open and left on my essay. He came over by me and perched his ass on my desk, looking down at me.
I looked up at him in his deep blue eyes, blonde curly hair and beautiful golden skin tone. He has more of our mother's looks than our fathers. He'd clearly been spending time at the beach lately. He was pretty muscular and toned. A gym rat, of course. I've always admired his discipline to stay dedicated to the gym and his fitness. I did work out with him occasionally when I felt like it. I was toned myself but did not have nearly all the defined crevices he had on his muscles and abs.
"Actually, I was just about to take a break. You bored or something? Don't you have a party with Derek & Grayson?" I raised my eyebrows in a questionable look. I picked up my pen I had lying on my desk and started fiddling with it when I looked up at him again and stared into his eyes.
"Nah. I decided not to go out. I'm getting tired of the party scene. It gets boring after a while." He stared up at my ceiling, pondering his next thought. All of a sudden, he has a burst of excitement then looked down at me with his eyes beaming. "Let's go bowling!"
I looked at him Iike he was out of his mind. I am not sporty in any way and even though bowling isn't technically a sport but does take some serious wrist and hand-eye coordination, I am not one for that type of job. "You know I don't bowl. I don't even know how to roll a damn bowling ball correctly."
Aiden scoffed then threw his head back, laughing then looked at me. "Come on! That's the whole point of bowling is to have fun and make a fool of ourselves. Winning is just one of the perks. Plus I'm not taking 'No' for an answer because I've already booked a lane at The Pin Factory."
I rolled my eyes so far into my head that I'm sure I caught a glimpse of my brain because of course he would do that knowing I wouldn't deny him. "Jackass." I muttered under my breath, looking away and setting my pen down on my desk. Blowing out a breath, I threw my hands in the air and stood from my desk chair and walked over to my dresser to pull out a pair of jeans so I can change out of my sweats.
I pulled my shirt off over my head and tossed it in the hamper close to my door. As I started pushing my sweats down my legs, I felt Aiden's eyes on me. I ignored it. We've changed in front of each other before so I don't know why he was staring at me this time. Grabbing my clean jeans, I slid them up my legs and over my ass, buttoning them in place. I went to my closet and grabbed one of my random graphic band tees off of a hanger. I slid the shirt over my head and arms through the sleeves. I walked back to my dresser so I can make sure I put deodorant on. I was aware of Aiden watching my every move. Why was he being so weird?
"Let me just put my shoes on and we can go. Are you going wearing that?" I looked over my shoulder at him and he looked down at his clothes. He was wearing his workout shorts and a wife beater. I slid on my black vans and sprayed some cologne.
"No. I was planning on changing too. I'll be right back and meet you downstairs." Standing to his full height of 6 feet, he started walking towards the door and down the hall to his bedroom, closing the door behind him.
I'm not going to lie. I'm actually looking forward to this even though it's bowling. I'm looking forward to being around Aiden. It's been a while since I've been busy with school and he's been busy with work and his friends. I miss him when he's not here. Growing up, we did everything together. Always attached at the hip. We rarely fight but when we do, it doesn't take long to get over it. He's always been there.
