"Hey, babe, where do you want me to put these boxes?" Eddie Cochran asked his wife Suzanne, struggling through the hallway with moving boxes.
"Just put them all in the living room. And we will sort them later, honey." Suzanne said, sorting the boxes marked kitchen; dressed in sweatpants and a baggy purple hoodie, her dirty blonde hair tied back, reaching down to her buttocks.
"What time are kids getting here, Suzie?" Eddie asked, as he sat down on a small chair, which was covered in a white sheet. He opened up a can of Budweiser and took a drink. He was a stocky man, in his late forties, or maybe even fifty, his wife was forty-five, with voluptuous curves hiding under her baggy top.
"Mmm, about eight tonight. Gina and Georgia are coming straight over from their friend's, and Shaun at about nine or ten, after his supermarket job." She sat on the arm of the chair, and nicked a swig of Budweiser, and giggled at Eddie.
"So, did the real estate agent tell you why we got this place so cheap, honey?" softly inquired Suzanne.
"Yeah, it was a family, the Newtons, just disappeared; they and their neighbors, all just vanished overnight. There were rumors that mother and son were having an incestuous relationship with each other. Maybe they ran away scared, thinking they would be caught. But no trace of them was ever found." Eddie chuckled to himself, thinking how absurd it all sounded.
"We best press on, we will leave the kitchen, and start on the bedrooms, so we'll have somewhere to sleep. And just order in tonight, honey. If that's okay, babes?" She put her arm around Eddie's neck, and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.
Eddie kept thinking that something or someone was watching them, he felt something from the corner of his eye, but put it down to the booze. He got up and followed his wife upstairs. As he grabbed the bannister leading up to the three bedrooms and the bathroom, she said, "So, if you start in our room, I will start on the twins' room, and then Shaun's; okay, babes." She gave her husband a sexy wink.
The boxes were all marked, stacked in the far corner of the room, as Eddie started to unpack and put stuff away, mostly clothes and some shoes, mostly Suzanne's, in the built-in-mirror wardrobes. It took them about two hours to get everything unpacked and put away.
They headed downstairs to wait for the furniture, which was supposed to be delivered at any time, from their previous home, which had been in storage. Sitting at the kitchen table, on upside-down moving boxes, they shared a packet of biscuits.
A loud knock on the front door made them both jump up startled, they got up and answered it. Standing there, were two men in their early twenties, dressed in Levi's denim jeans and black safety boots, with an orange and white safety vest."
"Hi, you must be Cochran's Cochrans. I am Drew, and this here is my brother, Tommy. We're here from Easy Storage with your furniture," and they handed Eddie a receipt for their stuff.
"Thanks, guys; bring it through," Eddie said to the delivery men.
The two men brought the furniture into the house on three trips, as Suzanne told them where to place them-- a three-seat couch on the left wall; a small love seat under the living room window; a double recliner-seat in the corner.
"Guys, could you take that old recliner away?" Eddie asked them.
"Yeah, sure thing, Mr. C," the older one said,
"Must say, this is a really nice house you got here," the other one added, and left to get on with their next drop.
Suzanne went into the cupboard and brought out the Hoover to vacuum up the dust from the workmen's boots, which had left marks on the red carpet in the living room. As she did, she heard a small, child-like humming coming from the kitchen counter. She went to investigate where it was coming from, but there was nothing there. And then it suddenly stopped.
"Hey, Eddie. Did you hear anything a minute ago? I am sure I heard a little girl humming."
"No. That story got to you, too, dear," as he laughed it off.
Suzanne came and sat next to Eddie, cuddled into him tightly, and switched on the TV, which was mounted on the wall.
"It's okay, honey; just some old-house creaks and moans, a bit like us," he joked, kissing her hair, which smelled like fresh flowers; he had always loved her scent.
As he kissed her lips gently, she opened her mouth, and let his tongue slide in with passion. His hands spooning her curves under her baggy top, his hands slipping inside her GG-cup lace bra, teasing her engorged, milky breasts; his manly, big, thick fingers playing with her areolas and puffy pierced nipples.
