At only 24, Ollie was forced to take over and be a father figure for his siblings. They all moved out of their family home and in together in town, away from their father and his soul-crushing heartache and guilt. Slowly, the three young adults completely lost sight of their dad.
Years flew by and Ollie, Sam and Jade found new things to focus on to enjoy life once again. They grew up to be amazing adults and parents.
Jade kept her passion for painting as the last thing she could relate to her father with. The young woman became quite the celebrity in her community for her moving paintings and incredible ability to capture the true essence of her models. The young woman also took a teaching role and gave painting classes at the local community center for both beginners and advanced painters. She often participated in the workshops and had made a ritual of posing for her students, dressed or in the nude. She wasn't shy about her body and always said that all bodies are beautiful and deserving of being captured in their most raw and pure form.
Tom, on the other hand, felt crushed by loneliness. After being a widower for 10 years, he realized he'd lost way more than his wife the day she died. He'd also pushed away his kids and eventually lost them. Now, his days were all the same : bland and void of life. He couldn't even paint anymore. His brushes had been left untouched for a whole decade and he couldn't bring himself to try and paint anything anymore.
One day, taking his fate in his own hands, he decided to reconnect with his daughter. He couldn't admit it to himself, but she was the one he missed the most out of his three children. Her softness and joyful presence were once the light of his days.
Reaching for his phone, he decided to make a quick search on the internet in order to see if he could get any information on her current location and occupation. Tom quickly found her website and a link to the classes she taught at the community center. "That's my luck, he thought. Maybe it's time I get back on the horse and pick up painting". But how could he come to her after shunning her for so long? How could he pretend to be worth her time, when he couldn't even pick up the phone and talk to her? The shame was like a burden he couldn't bear to hang on to anymore. It had to stop. He had to stop this.
Tom made the decision to sign up for his daughter's next class, three days later. It was a nude painting lesson. Tom had no idea what he was getting himself into, but he didn't think much of it, so eager to finally see his babygirl after all these years. Would he even recognize her? Of course he would, how much could she have changed? Don't all parents know their kids face by heart? But would she remember his face?
