The Other Half of Me
Author's note:
Hi, if you are familiar with my other works then this work may come as a shock to you. It represents a big deviation from my previous vanilla romance so I suggest you read the tags very carefully before continuing. This story is about the love between two step-sisters and it includes light pet play, light bondage, and explores lesbian themes. If any of these things or the tags offend you, please do not read on. Thanks!

Feeling a bit dejected, I walked into my dorm building. After a long and tiring day of classes all I wanted to do was curl up in my bed and watch sappy romantic dramas on Netflix until I fell asleep. My long blonde hair was kind of a mess and I hadn't had a chance to brush it this morning as I rushed to class. It had only gotten more frazzled as the day went on. I slipped my key into the lock and fumbled with it until my door swung open. There was someone lying on my bed already.
"Ashley?" I said uncertainly, blinking my eyes, not sure if my exhaustion was making me see things.
The goddess on my bed smirked as she saw me enter the room. Her long blonde hair came down to her waist in an elegant wavy cascade and her large blue eyes met mine for a second. Her makeup was so subtle and natural and she always looked so effortlessly beautiful. She was wearing a white crop top shirt that showed off her flat stomach and black booty shorts. She looked at her perfectly manicured nails and said matter-of-factly, "What? Can't a girl come and visit her stepsis in college?" She sat up and looked at me affectionately.
Dropping my backpack to the floor, I ran at my older stepsister and wrapped her up in a tight hug. The exhaustion that had overwhelmed me moments earlier had all but disappeared-- the feeling of defeat vanquished by her presence. "Ashleyyyy!! You really came!"
She giggled and carefully extricated her arms from my embrace. Then she hugged me back, patting me on the back of my hoodie and stroking my messy hair with her fingers. "I've missed you too, Steffi."
Then she tried to push me away but I held on to her tightly, refusing to let go. Ashely laughed before saying gently. "I'm not going to leave, I just want to see how my little sister is doing."
Reluctantly I loosened my grasp and stepped back.
She looked me up and down. "Jesus Steffi, you look like you've been through a tornado. You haven't been partying all the time in college have you? It's bad for your sleep and your grades." She said a little sternly.
I shook my head embarrassed at her seeing my disheveled appearance. "I've just been really busy with schoolwork and exams. I was never a brainiac like you."
She caressed my face, brushing a few strands of my hair away from my eyes. "What are you talking about Steffi, you always had the higher of the grades."
I shook my head again. "No, I rarely ever beat you in anything, and I always had to work twice as hard."
She smiled but didn't say anything. She continued to gaze at me sweetly, taking me in.
"I'm so glad you came, Ashley." I said softly, getting lost in her baby blue eyes.
She laughed. "Of course Steffi. I wouldn't miss it for the world." She reached into her bag and pulled out a small box of chocolates. "Here, I brought you something."
It was too much, all the stress and loneliness of college life came down on me at once and tears sprang to my eyes as I took the box from her. "Ferrero Rocher? You always know just what I need."
Ashley saw the tears welling in my eyes and her expression softened. "Aww, don't cry. It's what big sisters are for. I'll always be here for you."
I dabbed at my eyes with the sleeve of my hoodie. "I'm not crying." I sniffled.
She chuckled, relieved that I had stopped. She reached over and ruffled my hair. "That's my girl. Now let's get started on those chocolates and catch up." She crossed her legs and scooted to the edge of the bed.
I tried not to stare at her long pale legs, perfectly toned from her years of cheer practice.
Ashley patted a spot on the bed next to her.
I sat down, my heart aching for her. If only she knew.
I looked up at her perfect face with her delicate button nose and long lashes, trying to memorize every detail before she inevitably would leave again. She finally noticed me staring. She laughed. "You're looking at me like I'm going to disappear. Like you haven't seen me in years."
"Why are you so good to me, Ashley?" I asked her quietly.
Her expression softened and she took my hand in both of hers, looking at me in the eyes sincerely. "Because I love you Steffi. You're my little sister, and I will always take care of you. You mean the world to me and I would do anything to make you happy."
My heart raced at her words. "Anything?" I asked, my heart pounding in my chest.
She smiled. "Of course. Anything."
"I-I wanted to tell you something." I said nervously, avoiding her eyes.
She cupped my face in her hands and turned my face to look at her. Her eyes were filled with concern. "You can always tell me anything Steffi. I won't judge you."
"I'm scared that if I tell you, you will look at me differently or hate me."
"Oh sis," she rubbed my back comfortingly. "I would never hate you or leave you. You're my sister and nothing will ever change that. I wouldn't let anything come between us."
The words caught in my throat and I swallowed hard. "I-I love you."
Ashley laughed. "And I love you too Steffi. Now tell me what's bothering you."
I shook my head. "No, I mean, I
love
you."
She pulled back a bit and studied me, her eyes widening. "You
love
me? As in more than a sister?"
"Yes." I covered my face in my hands. Peeking at her through my fingers I said quietly. "You must think I'm a creep."
"Oh Steffi, no. I would never think that. But... we're sisters. This is... I mean.. we can't."
"Step sisters." I say hotly.
"Well yes, but it's still a taboo Steffi."
