Her eyes welled up. Alison dropped the phone and sat wondering what went wrong. Her legs still shaking from the orgasm Dick put her through she wondered if she was in any way responsible for this. She wept. But she knew she couldn't let the news distract her. Markus was coming over to pick her up. She needed to go. She needed to see him.

"What's going on?" asked Dick.

Alison shuffled in her place trying to get back on her shaking knees. "It's Chuck."

Dick grew aware of something being wrong in the way she hesitated to meet his eyes. "Who's Chuck?" he asked.

"My husband." She said on her feet, yet still wobbling and reaching for her things at her desk.

"Your boyfriend called to give you news about your husband?" he asked, remembering that it clearly said Markus on her phone not Chuck.

"That was my son who called." She said. Meet his eyes and rushing out.

Dick stood watching her fumble away from him.

He wouldn't hear from her for weeks. And Amanda, would step in to help him out in the meantime, especially since Nathan was on vacation.

Markus stuck around the house for a couple of days after Chuck was discharged from the hospital but headed back to the city almost immediately.

About 2 weeks after since Alison's disappearance, Amanda came to visit.

Alison was back to her usual routine. She was dressed conservatively something Amanda wasn't used to seeing Alison in. Even on the interview, Alison showed a little cleavage and some legs. After all she did flaunt what she had.

"Oh my god! What are you doing here?" Alison almost screamed seeing a familiar face in two weeks.

Amanda took her shades off and took one good look at Alison's clothes, "Oh my god indeed." He blurted out.

"Come inside." She said letting the woman in.

As soon as the woman entered, Amanda pressed her body and lips to her friend's.

"Wow." Blurted out Alison, "I missed you too babe. What's going on?" she asked. "What are you doing here?"

"Oh ya know. I was looking for a house in this neighbourhood. And remembered that you once said you lived here..." she trailing off as she walked inside.

"Buying a house?" asked Alison surprised, "Really?"

"No! Bitch. I'm here to fucking see you. Where the fuck did you run off to?" Amanda almost yelled, "Dick said you left in a hurry. And you've been MIA since."

"MIA?" Alison asked innocently.

"Missing in action, woman. Keep up." Amanda rolled her eyes.

"Yeah yeah... Come on in. Sit down."

"Before I sit down, I wanna see the man who's kept you from the office for so long. Where's Chuck?" asked Amanda.

"He's not home." She said.

"Not home? Gone for a walk?" Amanda asked looking at her watch.

"No, he's back at work. He's travelling again." She said.

"What?"

"Well yeah."

"So what the fuck are you still doing here? When are you coming back?" Amanda asked.

"I'm not." Alison spoke sad yet confident.

"Alison, what the fuck are you saying?" she asked.

"I'm not coming back. I... I'm not. I can't" she spoke almost shaking at the thought of going back to the city.

"Why?"

"What do you mean why? Look what happen to Chuck just a few month I stepped away. I can't. I can't go back. I need to stay here. With my family."

"Alison." Amanda took her into her arms and the two women retired unto the couch. "You can't blame yourself for what happen to Chuck."

"You don't know what you're saying." She snapped back.

"Alison, listen to me. You're letting this get to your head. Don't do that. This isn't your fault." She spoke in an attempt to reason.

"It is my fault. Amanda, you don't know." She said almost hesitant.

"Baby, talk to me."

"That night when Markus called me with the news about Chuck. I was in the office. With Dick." She spoke almost disgusted of herself.

"So?" Amanda said, "You were working..."

"I wasn't working." Alison blurted out. "I thought the office was empty and decided to get some extra work done and then Dick show up. We flirted and one thing led to another... And before we knew it..."

Amanda despite her attempt to comfort her friend was curious what had happen, "What?" she couldn't even suggest anything and risk angering her again.

"He drew an orgasm out of me. Not once but twice. With just his fingers." She confessed.

"Ohh..." Amanda spoke nodding to the obvious. "Yeah he can do that. The first time he did that, It got pretty intense." She confessed as a matter of fact.

"When I got the call from Markus, I couldn't even walk back to the elevator without my legs shaking."

"Oh honey, that doesn't mean you can blame yourself for what happen to chuck? Come on."

"Amanda! The entire drive over even after having known that my husband was in the hospital. Having had that intense moment with Dick, that was all I could think about. I could feel his fingers pumping. The squelching sound that echoed in the hallway. The way I screamed I could not take it out of my mind. And all of it faded with no trace the moment I saw Chuck through the ICU window."

"I understand how you feel. But what you shared with Dick has nothing to do with Chuck. And what happen to Chuck has nothing to do with you and Dick. It's completely different."

"You don't think I know that?"

"Then why are you blaming yourself for what happen to Chuck."

"I'm not blaming myself for what happen to him. I just know that I should have been here. At home when it did."

"Was Chuck home when it happen?" asked Amanda.

"No, he was at the club."

"So even if you were here, it wouldn't have made a difference. You can't know that. What if he decided to stay home that night."

"You can't know that. It's done. It's over. You can't ruin the present thinking about the past, Alison. You gotta come back."

"Amanda, you don't understand." Alison was finally able to see the rationale. She knew she was being stupid blaming herself. Maybe she just needed to hear it from someone else.

"Think about it this way." Amanda spoke, "Let's say even if you were here. And Chuck was at the club regardless. How different would things have turned out?"

"It wouldn't."

"Of course it would. You wouldn't have experienced that awesome orgasm from Dick." Alison snickered, and smiled, "There she is." Said Amanda.

"Oh shut up." Alison said grabbing them a drink.

With a few drinks in, and a little bit of small talks, Amanda once again probed, "So tell me. What's Dick like?"

"Oh shut up, Amanda." She said shaking her head, yet blushing.

The two women spoke about the night and Alison blushed about every detail. She still couldn't help feel guilty but she was calm now that she reasoned with Amanda.

She didn't get any time to herself or with Marcus since. She was physically growing desperate yet forced herself to work, day in and day out.

Markus was at the restaurant his mother had lunch at every afternoon. She did often rave about their French onion soup. So he wondered if he should take some over since she was back home again taking care of dad. Maybe he should just try it for himself once.

"Markus?" came a woman's voice and Markus turned to see Amanda.

He recognized her instantly and yet played the fool. He turned and gave her a funny look, as if he was trying to place her. "I'm sorry..." he lingered.

"Amanda." She said stepping closer. Her bubbling personality beamed. All the stories Alison's told him about her was flashing by in his head. And he could not resist.

"Of course. Mom's friend." He nodded along.

"Oh stop that. You make it seem like I'm so much older than I am." She said, "I'm much younger than your mom. I'm just a little over 30." She confirmed.

"I wouldn't place you over 20." He laughed along, "Probably call security if I caught you in a bar."

"Would you?" she teased, "Put an innocent woman in trouble with the security like that?"

"Well if you were 20, in that particular situation. You won't be all that innocent especially being at a bar and all." He teased back.

"I guess I won't be." He smiled, and paused a moment before she let her eyes linger before she continued, "So, I heard about your dad. How's everyone doing?"

"He's doing well. Having mom back home is helpful. I mean, the last I saw them anyways." He spoke.

"Of course." She added along. "We really miss Alison at work." She added.

"Growing up mom would often talk about how much she enjoyed work. But we've never seen her work a job before so we've never known. But having seen how much she's grown over the short span she's worked with you guys. Makes me wonder." He said.

"She really does love it here." Amanda added, "So, when's she coming back?" she asked.

Markus paused staring at the woman and took a moment before he spoke, "It's a little complicated. I'm not sure if she would." He said.

Amanda could not believe that he just said that. "What are you saying?" she asked taking him by the hand and heading over to her and Alison's usual booth. "Is she considering quitting?"

"I think she already might have. The last I spoke she seemed like she has no intention to coming back to the city." He added.

"That's bullshit." She blurted out, almost yelled. Taking Markus by surprise. "I'm sorry she added for cursing in public, seeing many had turned to her outburst.

"I don't know what to say actually. She's blaming herself for whatever reason for what happen to dad." He said.

"Why?" she asked.

"You're gonna have to talk to her about it." He said when the waiter announced the order ready to take away.

She kept holding his arm and keeping him at the booth. "That's my order." He said.

"Can we talk later?" she asked. Grabbing her phone out of her bag. "I don't think I'm ready to say good bye to your mom, just yet." She confessed. And the two exchanged numbers.

He took the soup and headed out to his car, but was called in for work again.

*****

Markus thoroughly enjoyed the rapport he had with Amanda. But hated how the conversation deviated Alison and her work.

He took the cold tub of soup up to his apartment and tossed it on the counter. When he heard a ping.

The sound reminded him of Alison, it gave him a semi.

Amanda: Hi! Am I catching you in a bad time?"

Markus: It's never a bad time for anyone who's friends with mommy dearest.

Amanda: Oh my god. You need to stop calling me your mom's friend.

Markus: I'm closer to your age... I think.

Amanda: Really? How old do you think I am?

Amanda: Careful.

The moment he saw the word 'Careful' come through he couldn't help but grin.

Markus: Oh I don't think it's relevant, honestly.

Amanda: Why?

Markus: Oh don't tell me you don't know how hot you are.

Amanda: Oh I'm hot am I?

Markus: I'm sure I'm not the first guy to tell you that.

Amanda: You're not. But it's always nice to be reassured.

Markus: Well if reassurance is what you're looking for. I'm here for you. Anytime any day.

Amanda: Markus, are you flirting with me?

Markus: Would that be so wrong?

Amanda: I'm an engaged woman.

Markus: So technically you're not married.

Amanda: Oh my god, you're a bit of a son of a bitch, aren't you?

Markus: Did you just call my mother a bitch?

Amanda: I'm certain we've called each other worse. Lol.

Markus: To her face?

Amanda: You have no idea the kinda stuff we talk about.

Markus: You have my attention.

Amanda: I'm not gonna tell you any of it.

Markus: Come on, not even a little?

Amanda: Nope.

Markus: Didn't realize, my mom's friend was such a tease.

Amanda: There's plenty you don't know.

Markus: Wouldn't I like to...

Amanda: I bet you would.

Markus: How about we go grab a drink and hash it out?

Amanda: Hash it out?

Amanda: Aren't you gonna buy me dinner first?

Markus: Tell me when you're available and we'll make it a date.

Amanda: Didn't I mentioned already that I'm an engaged woman?

Markus: What does that have anything to do with it?

Amanda: Well you're asking an engaged woman out on a date.

Markus: I'm just asking my mother's friend out. Whether if it's a date or not, entirely depends on how the night ends.

Amanda: Oh my god.

Amanda: If only I'd known how naughty Alison's son was...

Markus: What would you do?

Amanda: I guess you'll find out. Soon enough.

Markus: I guess we will.

The next day Markus was quick with his work and rushed over to the same restaurant to catch Amanda.

He was right across the street watching her go in. He caught up to her just as she entered and snuck up behind her. She was making her way to the same booth and he smacked her ass.

Amanda was alarmed and shook. She turned back in shock only to find Markus.

"Markus!" she exclaimed. "Did you just smack my ass?" she asked.

"What if I did?" he teased, "Are you gonna tell my mom on me?"

"Maybe I should." She teased. Taking her seat in the booth as the waitress came by.

"Fine." He said and placed his order. Claiming his seat. Amanda smiled at his assertiveness and placed her order as well, "I will not do that. Again. EVER!" he continued.

"Oh shut up." She laughed and took her coat off and got comfortable. "What are you doing here?"

"Umm. Lunch." He said shrugging, like it was obvious.

"I didn't know you came here for lunch." She spoke.

"I didn't decide until VERY recently." He teased.

"Hmmm. I wonder what that is." She chimed along.

The two shared a meal. Markus contemplating his conversation with his mother about involving her friend into this mess. And yet engaging with her himself. He knew that this was a recipe in works for a major disaster. Yet the danger of it was more exciting.

The two shared and flirted through the whole meal. They stayed talking longer than they needed to. With each sentence they shared growing dirtier.

He walked her up to the building and the two hugged before they parted. He slipped his hand into her coat and reeled her into his frame for a proper hug. And slipped his hand down her to her ass and laid in a soft pat.

"Hey! I thought you said you won't ever do that again." She teased smacking him on the arm.

"Did I?" he teased. Acting forgetful.

"YES!" she giggled smacking his arm again.

He pat her ass again and parted ways.

She was giddy. She couldn't remember the last time she felt like this excited about something. She could not believe that it's with Alison's son of all people.

*****

That following Saturday, Markus was supposed to go home, yet he texted Amanda.

Markus: Hey, meet me for lunch.

Amanda: Where?

Markus: The usual place.

The two met and had lunch before taking a drive around the city.

"Did I foil any plans?" he asked.

"Does it matter?" she asked

"I know it should, but I hope it doesn't." he said.

She knew exactly what he meant. It wasn't lost to either one of them that what they were doing was wrong. But the fact that they did just didn't matter to them. The two of them connected so well so quick, it was exciting. She was an engaged woman who shouldn't be out with another man. And he was fucking his mother who she worked with.

Everything about the two of them interacting was dangerous and yet exciting.

A lot was left unsaid and the two shared a glance in the fading light of the sun setting over the city skyline in the distance. The two held hand as he drove her to a motel. The two fucked each other's brains out over and over. Until it was late enough. They had a cheap meal at a local diner before driving back into the city.

He drove home the next day and spent the day with his family.

The following week was about the same except Amanda and Markus spent a lot more time together. That Thursday Amanda told her fiancΓ© that she's visiting Alison that weekend and would have to leave Friday night.

She then spent the night with Markus and the two drove over to meet Alison. Markus decided not to, half way. And decided to call Mike instead. After all his father was also unwell and was in a very similar situation as he was.

*****

Mike and Sally

Markus drove straight to Mike's place as soon as he dropped Amanda at his childhood home. He walked up to the door and rang the doorbell for a bit of screaming between two muffled voices before Sally opened the door.

She was surprised to see him at the door and hugged him tight. He remembered Alison telling him about how big of a crush she had on him. Made him wonder if she was still into him.

The guy was fucking his own mother and one of her close friend and colleague. And now thinking about the possibility with not just Alison's best friend but also his best friend's mother. Life was much simpler when all the secrets were hidden.

He headed upstairs to Mike's room and browsed through the photos hanging on the wall.

=====

"Baby, you have no idea. If not for Mike and her husband being home most of the time, I'm certain she would have spread her legs to every guy in the neighbourhood." Spoke Alison.

"Mom, come on. I'm sure she's not that bad." Said Markus laughing.

"You have no idea. And she's into all kinds of weird things too." Said Alison, piquing Markus' interest.

"Weird, like what?" asked Markus.

"Look at you all curious." She said slapping him on the arm. Getting off the bed and slipping into her robe.

"Mom! come on, tell me." He whined. "Stop fuckin around." He said leaning over to slap her ass but failed.

"Hey, language." She laughed and so did he."

=====

He made it up the stair way, remembering an old conversation at his mom's apartment in the middle of the weekend. Full of junk food, gossip and fucking.

"DUDE!" said Mike, when Markus opened the door.

"What's up, buddy." He said.

With the memory of fucking his mother fresh. He smiled. "Oh buddy there's plenty." Said Markus. "But, how're you doing?"

"Yeah, I'm good. Mom's been a little bitchy lately. I mean, I get that having to take care of dad and having me working from home all the time. It's not easy on her too. But, you know how she is." Mike spoke shrugging.

"You know I'm here to help you out if you need, right?" said Markus. "Just a phone call and a long drive away."

"How the fuck are you going to help out. You planning on working as our personal maid?" Mike joked.

"No, since you just said that your mom's all stressed out and was being a little bitchy. I might have some time to fuck the stress out of her."

Mike laughed almost immediately and shook his head. "Wow, it really has been a while hasn't it?" he said.

"It sure has, buddy." Markus agreed.

"By the way, I saw your sister at the grocery store last week. She said your dad wasn't doing all that well." Mike asked.

"Yeah, he had a little cardiac thing. Nothing serious. But mom's a little shook. She hasn't been to the office in two weeks. And she kinda blames herself for what happen to dad." He said.

"Dude, I'm sorry. I know exactly what you mean. Until I completely shifted back home. Mom wasn't all that well either. She took it really hard." Mike spoke.

"I get that." Markus nodded.

"So you here to see your dad?" Mike asked.

"Oh no, he's back at work I think. Or atleast that's what Madeline texted sometime back." He said pulling his phone out of his pocket and paused for a moment before speaking to himself, "Fuck, I think I forgot to mention that to Amanda."

"Who's Amanda?" asked Mike.

"Well, I told you mom was working at this lawyers office in the city, right?"
