WHAM!
The front door slammed as Eliza walked in the house, having arrived home from school. Her sister Leah, who had been sitting on the couch catching up some reading, jumped, startled by the loud noise. She watched as her sister hurriedly rushed past the sofa, up the stairs, and into her bedroom, slamming that door as well.
Leah was nineteen years old, and only home from college on a short break. She was the taller of the two, standing at 5'10". She was an avid softball player and kept herself fit. She was slender, but had a good layer of muscles as well. Her hair was almost unnaturally jet black, currently pulled back in a ponytail. She had gentle brown eyes, which were covered by a pair of Converse eyeglasses.
Eliza took after their mother as far as looks went. She was only 5'5", and had long shimmery blonde hair. Her eyes were a gorgeous shade of bright blue, and her figure was slender, without the muscles that her sister had developed. She hadn't gotten into sports like Leah, but nevertheless worked out frequently to keep her figure lithe. At eighteen, she was only a year younger than Leah, and in her final semester of high school.
Leah closed the book she'd been reading and set it down on the coffee table. She knew her sister slamming doors couldn't have been a good sign. Worried, she hopped up from the sofa and trotted up the stairs, coming to a stop outside of the closed bedroom door. She could faintly make out her little sister crying. She knocked gently.
"Eliza, are you okay?"
"No!" Came a distraught reply.
Leah opened the door and slipped inside, closing it behind her. Eliza was laying on the bed, crying into her pillow. Leah made her way over to the bed and sat on the edge of it.
"What's wrong, babe?" She asked, concerned. She and Eliza had always been very close so seeing her like this was troubling.
"I don't want to talk about," Eliza murmured between sobs.
"C'mon El, we talk about everything," Leah said softly. She began rubbing her little sister's back through her t-shirt.
Eliza continued to cry for several minutes, and Leah patiently let her get it all out, still rubbing her sister's back to try and calm her down.
Once Eliza had cried herself out she rolled over so that she lay on her back, looking up at her sister through teary eyes.
"Ray dumped me," she said bluntly, sniffling.
Leah frowned, furrowing her brow.
"Well to hell with him then. He doesn't know what he's giving up."
"Maybe I should just start dating girls like you do," Eliza said, wiping her eyes.
Leah was indeed a lesbian. She knew she was from a very young age, and had dated girls all through high school, but had been single since starting college. Luckily Eliza was always cool about it, not caring if her sister's preference was different from her own.
"Might help, actually," Leah laughed.
"Guys are just such assholes sometimes," Eliza sighed.
"Hey, take it from me, girls can be too. You just have to find the one that's right for you."
