I'm a retired widower living in southern Arizona. I retired early, soon after my wife died. I had money in the bank, no need to work and time on my hands to try and regroup and make a new life for myself. We never had any kids and I had no pressing obligations. Women came and went with none sticking around longer than about six months. You would be surprised just how horny middle aged women can be and I was always willing, and fortunately, able to accommodate their sexual appetites.
A couple of summers later I climbed on my bike and headed east. I planned to be on the road for about a month, visiting family and friends along the way. East to family in Texas and Louisiana then north to see an old service buddy in Arkansas. From there I continued north, destination the Chicago area where I would spend about a week visiting friends before I turned west.
As I approached the southwest side of St Louis I intended to get through town and spend the night north of town to be out of the traffic when I left in the morning. I figured to follow the Mississippi river north before turning toward Chicago. I started seeing tourism signs advertising the St Louis Arch and figured "what the heck" so I wound my way through town to the closest parking lot next to the Arch.
I had been on the road about a week by then and while I had been checking escort ads along the way I hadn't hooked up with anyone and was feeling the need for some action.
The process of taking the tram to the top of the Arch includes a lot of waiting in line because the capacity of the observation room is very small. The tram is boarded in numbered groups using color coded passes. While in line a woman about 40 struck up a conversation offering that she was in town to see her son graduate from Army boot camp just south of St Louis. We exchanged general information about each other. Her name was Linda and she was from Utah and wasn't due to leave town until the following afternoon. I explained that I was headed north to find a motel out of town. Following her visit to the top of the Arch she was going to take a paddle wheel boat ride on the river and asked if I wanted to join her. I pointed out that her group of colored passes was due to board several groups after mine and that I wasn't particularly interested in a boat ride.
