A FALL IN THE CITY
Chapter 16: True Professionals
No matter how I was looking at this, I truly was a selfish asshole.
I had no right to be jealous, but I was anyway.
Sure, Zaid was a great guy.
At this point, the quarterback was coming by the castle only to help Fran with her treatment, he had been a great support for her, and he was also genuinely in love with Blake... but God damn it, the boy was mine!
Blake was supposed to be mine... Right?
I kicked a can of blue paint and the thing spilled all over the wooden floor.
"Argh!"
What an idiot!
I had almost finished up the bedroom and this stupid move cost me three more hours of work.
To be fair, I wanted to keep myself busy.
Zaid was inside the house, in the other aisle with Fran.
I could have gone to him and asked him questions but what would have been the point?
You know what we say, I had made my bed, and now, I had to lie in it.
Once I was done with my renovation work for the day, I used the only outlet I had to distract myself.
Sex.
I texted Sergio.
"Up for some fun?"
He replied almost instantly.
"I have to be at the bar in about an hour..."
"I can be at your place in fifteen minutes."
I was horny.
He sent me a gif of a girl drinking some milk and another of a guy showing a thumbs up. He was ready.
I practically ran to my van, almost bumping into Zaid on my way out. We met each other in the main entrance.
"Sorry, pal!"
"Joe! Hi. Feels like it's been a long time."
He hugged me briefly.
"Yeah, I was kinda busy with the work upstairs." I blatantly lied.
I mean, that was not a lie, but that was not the reason I had seen Zaid.
"Fran told me you've been helping her a lot."
"Not as much as you do. It's admirable the time you're spending here with her, during that tough time, on top of your classes and the busy football practice I assume."
He smiled at me faintly.
I was trying to read every detail of his expression, as if I could see in his eyes whatever was going on between him and Blake.
I know.
I had become worse than the over-thinking women I used to be judging so hard before.
"Eric told me that he had seen you at the gym." Zaid mentioned.
Of course, he did.
"Oh yeah? I figured, why not work-out during my free time? Eric's a nice guy. He told me that you... You were living with Blake?"
Zaid seemed slightly uncomfortable.
He had confessed his love for the boy to me after all... Right after I had pounded his black ass, bareback.
"We are. I guess that you know the proposal to Liv didn't go as planned."
I wondered what else Zaid knew about Blake and I.
"Yes... I was saddened to learn about their break-up."
Zaid bit his lips, unable to reciprocate the same regret.
He had probably cheered at the idea of having the recently-single Blake living with him. I clenched my fist as I was trying to keep my cool.
I knew what it felt like to be housemate with Blake... To see him every single day... To share a bathroom with him... Hell, they were even sharing the same bedroom...
Neither Zaid nor Blake owed me anything though.
"I wanted to tell you, Joe... After we... When we..."
"Fucked?"
"Yes... I think I've been wasting too much time. I... I'm trying to come out of the closet, with the football team, with everyone."
I knew he mainly meant that he had come out to Blake but I could not be mad at that.
Truthfully, even in my pathetic bitter state, I was glad for Zaid. He deserved to be out and happy.
"That's a great move, I think. You'll see, people might surprise you on how open they'll be about it."
He bit his lips once again.
There were probably many things he was not telling me.
"I've already.... Been quite surprised."
There was an awkward moment of silence.
I thought about telling him that he should try to start something with Blake; I also considered warning him about the exact opposite; I wanted to ask him not to share what had happened between us.
Most of all, I needed to know how Blake was truly doing.
In the end, I did not say anything at all.
It was no longer my business, I had to be stronger than this.
"Well... I was about to go but, again, thanks for taking care of Fran. It really means the world to her." I spoke.
"I'm happy to be there for her. She does seem more tired lately."
"I noticed."
"Good bye Joe."
"Bye Zaid."
I walked up to my van mumbling "say hi to Blake for me" in my beard. I did not think he heard me and it was probably better that way.
I was gloomy as I was driving to Sergio's place and only him could help me get my mind off things.
Thank God when I got there, - a little later than what I had promised -, he was already stark naked, his hairy ass waiting for me.
"Hello you!" I slapped his juicy bum.
"Hello, Mister Farmer!"
I served myself a beer from his fridge, he was bending over his kitchen table.
"Ready?" I asked.
"We don't have much time; I should be going to work very soon."
I caressed his hairy back while sipping on my beer.
"Don't worry about that, I'm not in the mood for foreplay."
"You rarely are..."
That was true, not with Sergio anyway.
I spat on my fingers and slid them in his ass crack. My sex-friend was hiding a little secret from me, I could not access his hole right away.
I knelt down and took a better look at my meal.
The asshole was plugged with a tiny pink dildo, I could only see the very end of the toy coming out of his hole, right in the middle of his thick black hair.
